Strategic organizing in rural districts helped Democrats register a record number of new voters and ultimately helped flip the Senate and elect Joe Biden.

Polarization is more likely to occur in homogenous communities where people don't often interact with different ideologies. Rural voters often feel ostracized from politics and/or lack the opportunity to expand their political beliefs outside of their Republican majority.
