You know, John, nothing says PRIDE month quite like Governor Ron DeSantis signing anti-trans bills into law.

The latest?

The dubiously named "Fairness in Women's Sports Act," is a bizarre array of hate and bigotry thinly veiled under "fairness" for women and girls. The Act includes: 

• stipulations that girls' or women's teams "may not be open to students of the male sex," but the female athletes may play on the male teams;
• permission for schools to conduct genital inspections of transgender female student-athletes;
• limits use of certain educational facilities to biological sex; and
• a provision allowing an "impacted" student to sue a school that violates the act (making it nearly impossible for schools to support trans students effectively).

This legislation got its start in the Republican-dominated lower chamber of the Florida House – and it's a grave reminder of why elections at every level matter. So where's our senator as our kids are facing discrimination?
