ANTI-CHOICE BILLS ARE HARMFUL & UNPOPULAR
Reproductive rights are once again under attack in the North Carolina General Assembly. SB 405, a replica of a bill already vetoed by the Governor in 2019, demonizes doctors and will make it harder for them to provide care to their patients. HB 453, laced with inflammatory language, restricts abortions based on the supposed reason behind a patient's decision.
These bills are harmful, unproductive, unnecessary, and inappropriate. That's why medical professionals ([link removed]) like Physicians for Reproductive Health, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the NC OB/GYN Society all oppose these bills.
The bills are also contrary to how North Carolinians view abortion. A 2020 Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey ([link removed]) showed that 80% of North Carolina voters believe that any decision about pregnancy should be made by the pregnant person with the support of their loved ones. And 64% of voters agree that one-size-fits-all laws simply don't work for people making personal medical decisions.
Contact your representatives today to let them know you oppose these dangerous bills and help us elect ([link removed]) more progressive, pro-choice women to the legislature.
