Even with Donald Trump out of the White House, Republicans in Congress continue to place their loyalty to the former president above anything else.
Earlier this month, they removed Representative Liz Cheney from her House leadership position for her refusal to spread Trump's lies about fraud in the 2020 election. Now, efforts to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection have failed because they’re afraid of Donald Trump.
Republicans would rather appease the former president than uncover the truth about the Capitol insurrection for the American people and protect our democracy. It's clear: Trumpism isn't going away any time soon.
We cannot let our elected officials sweep the attacks to our democracy under the rug. Chip in before our end-of-month deadline at midnight to help us hold the most dangerous Republican members of Congress accountable for destabilizing our democracy.
