My friend Representative Stephanie Murphy is in a competitive race for an important Congressional seat in Florida.

So in a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a contribution of $5, $10, or whatever you can afford to support her campaign. But first, let me tell you why I think this is particularly important:

Stephanie's story is incredibly inspiring -- I'm proud to serve with her in Congress. 

Her family escaped communist Vietnam and came to Virginia when she was a child. Her experience as an immigrant living the American dream inspired her to fight to make that dream accessible to all her constituents in Florida. And it’s working -- she’s been called one of the most effective Democrats in the House.

When Stephanie first ran for office in 2016, she ran against an NRA-supported Congressman and won, flipping the district from red to blue for the first time in 24 years.

Her next race is expected to be extremely close. The GOP has already targeted her district as a primary “pickup” opportunity in 2022, and has pledged to spend large sums of money to defeat her.

Look, if Democrats are going to hold -- and expand -- our majority in the House next year, we need Stephanie to remain in Congress. So today, it would mean a lot to me if you’d chip in any amount that you can afford to support her campaign.
