John,
Today, we reached an important milestone decades in the making - President Biden removed the Hyde Amendment from his proposed budget.

The Hyde Amendment shamefully penalizes people with low incomes by withholding coverage for abortion care from those enrolled in
Medicaid, who are disproportionately women of color.
Finally, today, it has been taken out of the budget, thanks to your advocacy and the leadership of women of color who've been
building this coalition for decades.
We asked you to send a message to Biden at a crucial time, and you did. Your voice helped make this victory happen today.
Take a minute to share this milestone on social media, or simply forward this email to share the good news with your friends and
family.

While today we celebrate, we know that the dangerous, ideological and relentless crusade to limit access to health care and diminish
people's economic security is far from over.
More than 500 new abortion restrictions have been introduced in state legislatures this year alone - many of them are designed to
shame, pressure and punish people's health decisions.
And the Trump-packed Supreme Court just decided to hear arguments in a high-stakes abortion case, out of Mississippi, that directly
challenges Roe v. Wade and the critical rights it guarantees.
That's why we need and are calling on Congress to end Hyde and abortion coverage bans once and for all and pass the Women's Health
Protection Act to cement the right to abortion and make access a reality for all - no matter where they live or what type of insurance coverage they have.
Today, thanks to the tenacious advocacy and leadership of women of color reproductive justice leaders, we celebrate this victory. It's clear that progress is possible when we work together, and we will need to count on your support in the coming days and weeks.
Thank you!!
