Dear Friend,
From the cross-racial solidarity work of Grace Lee Boggs to the union work of Larry Itliong, the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community has been an essential part of the fabric of America and right here in Massachusetts.

This AAPI Heritage Month, we’re excited to announce the launch of the inaugural Massachusetts Asian American & Pacific Islander Democratic Caucus! If you’d like updates on the AAPI Caucus, CLICK HERE to be notified about opportunities to get involved. ([link removed])

Each May, we honor the contributions, accomplishments, and cultural impact of the AAPI communities, the fastest growing in Massachusetts. We understand Asian Americans to be anyone with an ethnic origin or ancestry originating from East Asia, Southeast Asia, and/or South Asia. We understand Pacific Islanders to include those with an ethnic origin or ancestry native to the islands which encompass Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, including Native Hawaiians. Absent a dedicated caucus specific to individuals who identify as members of the Muslim, Arab, Middle Eastern, Central Asian, and/or Western Asian communities, we welcome members of these communities to connect with our caucus to build collectively, despite whether or not they identify as AAPI.

Among Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders are peoples who come from native countries and lived experiences with vast histories of colonization, war, displacement, migration, displacement, and resettlement. As Chairs of the new AAPI Caucus, we seek to mobilize, engage, unify, and advocate for the interests of the diverse AAPI communities throughout the Commonwealth.

From energizing and mobilizing AAPI voters and community members, to identifying, recruiting, and training AAPI candidates and campaign staff, we’re committed to investing in the leadership and engagement of AAPI communities here in Massachusetts. That includes those who’ve been leading progressive efforts and organizing their communities outside of the Party itself.

As we launch the first-ever AAPI Caucus of the MassDems, we need your help to keep our momentum going. CLICK HERE to keep in touch with the AAPI Caucus as we continue intentional, transformative engagement with AAPI Democrats across Massachusetts. ([link removed])

Yours in the movement,

Helena Berbano & Wayne Yeh
AAPI Caucus Co-chairs
