Friend,
Arizona and Virginia have a lot in common.
For decades, Republicans dominated Arizona politics. Tim’s friend John McCain represented the state for more than 30 years in the Senate, and other Republican senators consistently defeated Democrats in statewide elections.
But, like Virginia’s evolution over the course of the past two decades, Democrats have begun to make incredible progress in Arizona -- they now hold both U.S. Senate seats, and the people of Arizona delivered 11 electoral votes for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020.
One person who deserves a lot of credit for the Democratic turnaround in Arizona is Mark Kelly, Arizona’s junior Senator and the husband of former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
Mark was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2020 on a platform of preventing gun violence, expanding health care access, and focusing on science and data-backed solutions to the challenges facing American families.
But, just as they are here in Virginia, the GOP in Arizona is desperate to win back the seat -- and has already put forward a Republican opponent as a challenger in the upcoming midterms.
If we are going to keep Mark Kelly’s strong, independent voice in the Senate to guide us through these challenging times, he needs our help to fight back against this new opponent. If you’re able, will you chip in $5 or more to support Mark’s people-powered campaign? [[link removed]]
Your donation will be split evenly between Mark Kelly and Tim Kaine.Mark and Tim have already worked together on many of the important issues of 2021 -- like delivering cash relief to millions of American families who are rebuilding from the pandemic, and helping to get America’s economy back on track by investing in small businesses and creating good paying jobs.
But there’s still more to do. And Mark needs our help to ensure he can continue that important work. So please, chip in what you can. [[link removed]]
Thank you,
