Dear John,

_What a strange legislative session it’s been._
_ _
Between a global pandemic and quarantine, a devastating winter storm, and
as intense a partisan divide as many capitol onlookers have ever seen,
it’s been a session for the history books. Our system works best when
people are activated and engaged - this session it was difficult to do
either.

ADVOCACY LOOKED A LOT DIFFERENT THIS YEAR. We hosted a series of online
advocacy training sessions to help community members engage on the topics
that concerned them the most. We helped advocates connect with their
policymakers virtually. There were a lot of great conversations and
powerful testimony over Zoom -- and as vaccination rates increased, in
person advocacy and testimony kicked back into gear. While we had some
victories, our top policy priorities didn’t gain traction this year.
_(Stay tuned post session for a complete recap of the Good, the Bad, and
the Ugly.)_

With that in mind, legislative strategy is a long game, and we’re here
for it. As soon as one Session ends, we’re at work preparing for the next
one. AND WE CAN PROMISE YOU THAT WE’LL KEEP WORKING ON OUR ISSUES UNTIL
WE GET THE JOB DONE.

WILL YOU CONSIDER MAKING A CONTRIBUTION TO KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING?

Thank you for your support,

The Texas Campaign Team
