Sixty-six out of the 100 counties in North Carolina have zero or one woman serving on the county commission. We are hoping to change that as we build our program to help elect more women at the local level.
 

We are hosting a panel TONIGHT about what it is like to serve on a county commission. Join us at 6pm with former Wake County Commissioner Jessica Holmes, Durham County Commissioner Brenda Howerton, Guilford County Commissioner Carly Cooke, and Mecklenburg County Commissioner Laura Meier. The challenge for women is not winning, but deciding to run.

We know that women often have to be asked multiple times in order to run for political office, but when they run, they win. Help us ensure a record number of women run for office in 2022 by being the first to encourage a woman to run. Share this event with leaders in your community who should run for office, regardless of their current or past involvement in politics.
