Since Democrats regained the majority in the U.S. Senate this January, we’ve made real progress on a host of issues ranging from providing direct cash relief for millions of American families to helping schools, local governments, and small businesses begin to safely reopen and emerge from this pandemic.

But had we lost even a single Democratic vote on the Senate floor, the American Rescue Plan would have failed. And future Democratic priorities like infrastructure needs, meaningful gun violence prevention, and critical policing and criminal justice reforms would likely be impossible to even get started on.

She’s a champion for families and workers, she’s a longtime advocate for environmental issues, and, as a former educator and one of the first-ever working moms in the U.S. Senate, she understands issues like paid leave, childcare, and education better than anyone.

Not only does Patty fight for our core progressive principles like raising the minimum wage and expanding health care access to all -- she’s also one of the members of Congress who’s willing to reach across the aisle to get things done for students, workers, and families.
