This week, BACKROADS PAC explored what redistricting means for Democrats’ chances of keeping the majority in 2022. With Republicans in control of 188 seats, they could wipe out Democrats’ five-seat majority with redistricting alone. To fight back, we’ve launched an Emergency Redistricting Fund with a goal of raising $18,800 before midnight tonight.

Today, I want to talk about what a Republican majority means for our country. If Republicans take back control and Kevin McCarthy becomes speaker, they will curtail voting rights and reproductive rights, roll back environmental protections, reject efforts to make health care affordable, and block Joe Biden’s agenda. And as they showed us on January 6, Republican extremists are a threat to our democracy.

I don’t want to wake up the day after the election and wish I did more to keep Republicans out of the majority—and I know you don’t either.

That’s why I’m personally asking you to contribute to our Emergency Redistricting Fund today. We need just $3,065 more to hit our $18,800 goal to support our efforts to defeat Republicans.
