On January 6, 2021, the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., was stormed during a riot and violent attack against the U.S. Congress. Over 100 armed MAGA supporters climbed the walls, desecrated the building, and wreaked havoc while chanting and waving Trump flags.
MAKE NO MISTAKE: These rioters didn't act at random. These violent actions were directly incited by Donald Trump himself just moments before.
Yesterday, thirty-five Republicans joined Democrats in passing a bill to create a bipartisan, independent commission to thoroughly investigate the Capitol riot. Now, it has to pass the Senate — and to nobody's surprise, Mitch McConnell isn't making it easy.

Structured much like the 9/11 Commission, the bipartisan committee would formally investigate the events and causes of the violent riots. It would make recommendations to prevent future attacks and provide a clear account of how this domestic terrorist incident was orchestrated — focusing on Donald Trump's involvement in the procurement of these deliberate MAGA attacks.
But instead, Trump's cronies are trying to whitewash the incident and act like it never happened, and they're doing everything they can to stop these investigations into the largest domestic terrorist attack on our nation.
We cannot allow these Republican leaders to derail this commission and leave our country vulnerable for another assault.
