Not only does the GOP target voters, they’re now setting their sights on election workers. Republicans across the country are pushing bills that would institute harsh penalties on election officials who are thought to have made an error. Being a poll worker is already an often thankless job, and now they are facing attacks from the GOP.
Stacey Abrams worked tirelessly to end voter disenfranchisement — but the GOP is still fighting back hard, and that is why they are now going as far as targeting election officials. This is an act of voter suppression because our officials are a crucial part of our election system — we cannot have a fair and just system without them.
