NPR: Texas House Legislatures Passes Voting Restrictions Bill
I’m watching in disgust as Texas Republicans gear up to pass a voter suppression bill whose sole purpose is to discourage and prevent vital American voices from voting. I refuse to stay silent as Republicans in our country use their power to strip Americans of their voice at the polls. I need 1,500 grassroots voices to stand with me and DEMAND Republicans end their voter suppression tactics.

I’m coming to you with an important update.
At this very moment, Republicans in Texas are rushing through a voter suppression bill that would drastically influence their elections.
This bill:
🔴 Makes it a felony to preemptively provide voters with an application to vote by mail
🔴 Limits early voting
🔴 Empowers partisan poll “watchers”
🔴 And even increases fines for providing assistance to voters
Make no mistake: This bill is a direct response to the historic increases we’ve seen in Americans voting in the 2020 elections-- and Republicans show no plans of slowing down their tactics to stop us from using our voice at the ballot box.
I know protecting our right to vote is going to be the ultimate battle in the 2022 elections.
That’s why I’m making it my mission to stop these Republicans at every turn, but I can’t do it alone.
I’m calling on 1,500 grassroots voices to stand up and DEMAND Republicans end their voter suppression tactics. Will you add your name to my petition before midnight?
