John,

Marco Rubio makes $174,000 a year. Did you know that? In fact, all Members of Congress make a comfortable living wage -- thanks in part, to the efforts of a labor movement that ensured a livable wage for a day’s work.

That’s about $3,346.15 a week in guaranteed wages that Marco takes home – not including all of his shady NRA and Big Sugar paychecks. But right now, Marco is one of just 10 Republican Senators proposing a bill to end the $300 a week unemployment benefit by the end of June, months before it’s set to expire.

$300 a week .

To cover rent. The average rent for a 1-bedroom in this country is $960.

To cover groceries. The average cost of groceries per U.S. household is about $387 per month.

To cover healthcare costs. The per capita health spending in this country is $10,966 annually.

And what did the GOP call this unemployment benefit? “Lucrative government dependency.”

If the people of this country cannot rely on their government to do its job in a global pandemic that’s left millions starving and on the brink of eviction, then the government is not doing its job and should be replaced.

That means you, Marco . It’s long past due that we retire Marco Rubio.

First Marco Rubio
