Friend,
When I was figuring out what to do with my life, I looked around for role models. And decided that I was going to try to be like Alice Rivlin. For years, I had a folder with career objectives titled: Operation Alice Rivlin.
If you have never heard of her, you are not alone. She was the first director of the Congressional Budget Office. She was a woman, an academic, and someone deeply involved in public service and good public policy — everything I aspired to be.
I made it my mission to serve my community and my country the same way Rivlin did. To balance the budget by putting the interests of the people first. And I did. During the Great Recession I worked with local leaders and balanced Georgia’s state budget.
Now, our country is facing another crisis. Since our economy shut down under the previous Administration, over one million Georgians lost their jobs.
We are on our way to recovery, but the government has a responsibility to ensure that struggling families have the resources to get back on their feet. I understand that small businesses need support. That is why I introduced and successfully passed a law to extend PPP loans to small businesses across the country. This bill is one of only 12 bills to date to actually pass Congress this session.
I have experience getting things done for Georgia families, but I cannot win in 2022 and keep fighting without your help. Rush $22 or whatever you can to build our campaign’s strength as we gear up for the 2022 election >>>
