As the Republican-led Texas Legislature rushes to pass a frenzy of crazy election bills, gun bills, and abortion bills, they’ve ignored an issue that actually affects Texans: health care.
Billions of dollars in federal incentives would pay for Texas to expand Medicaid but on ideological grounds, Texas Republicans are refusing to take action. Despite roughly 20% of Texas lacking health insurance -- pundits say Medicaid expansion is not likely to happen during this legislative session.
