Yesterday, the gun safety organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, released new Florida polling – and the mandate is clear – more Floridians support universal background checks than they do Senator Marco Rubio.

Their research illuminates growing support of H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act.

• A large and bipartisan majority of Floridians (86%) support H.R. 8. Revealing that Florida voters are twice as likely to support background checks than the re-election of Senator Rubio.
• Over 70% of those surveyed said they would never vote for a candidate who opposes background checks – including 76% of Republicans and 74% of gun owners.
