Hi friend,

Mike Espy here.

As you know I ran for the U.S. Senate to be the health care senator. Too many people across the country don’t have access to quality, affordable health care.

Too often, partisan politicians get in the way, blocking real progress and performing political stunts instead of helping those in need.

In my home state of Mississippi, the politicians in power have refused to expand Medicaid, even after the recent federal COVID relief bill made it an even better financial deal for us.

That’s why I’m so excited to share this great news with you today:

A new coalition called Healthcare for Mississippi is working to expand Medicaid in Mississippi at the ballot box, bringing the issue directly to voters to cut through the partisan noise and win real change.

It’s going to be a tough fight. I’ve seen firsthand just how difficult it is to win here, and I know the special interests will try to block them. So I have to ask:

Can you make a contribution today to Healthcare for Mississippi to help kick-off this people-powered campaign for health care in my home state? It would mean so much to me and countless Mississippians.

By some metrics, my home state of Mississippi is the least healthy state in our country.

Yet the politicians who are supposed to represent us have ignored the health of our neighbors. They’d rather score political points than help those in need.

That’s why I ran for the U.S. Senate and it’s why I’m still fighting for health care and justice for all.

And it’s why I’m particularly excited about the new Healthcare for Mississippi campaign. It’s supported by the great team at The Fairness Project, who’ve already won six Medicaid expansion campaigns like this one in red and purple states.

They know how to win tough campaigns. But I know this may be one of their toughest campaigns yet. The special interests will spend big and those in power will try to stop us.

That’s why we need your help to win healthcare for over 200,000 Mississippians.

Please, contribute to Healthcare for Mississippi today and become a founding donor of this exciting, people-powered campaign to win health care in my home state.

Together, with your help, Mississippi will win Medicaid expansion at the ballot box and send a clear message that Americans everywhere, even in red states, want more health care, not less.

Let’s get it done.
