ACT on solutions for communities disproportionately impacted by climate change, COVID-19, and poor economic outcomes.
Generation Progress

Hey John,

Right now, our country is grappling with the intersections of three crises—COVID-19, climate change, and an economic downturn—and it is important that we hold our elected leaders accountable.

It is possible to address all three of these issues simultaneously, while directly benefiting the communities that are disproportionately impacted by climate change, COVID-19, and poor economic outcomes.

Recently, President Biden announced the United States’ new Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), or the target amount of greenhouse gas emission reduction. The goal is to reduce emissions by 50-52% from 2005 levels by 2030.

Now we are calling on Congress to pass a comprehensive legislative package that prioritizes frontline communities. A package like this will serve these communities—Black, tribal, low-income, and other communities of color—while benefiting the rest of the country and leading us out of these crises. These communities have borne the brunt of all three crises, and it’s time that they are prioritized in economic recovery legislation.

Use our tool to call on your legislators to prioritize both climate and frontline communities in future economic recovery packages.

Then, send this email to three of your friends and urge them to do the same.

Onward,
