Folks, Ohio Republicans just introduced a voter suppression bill even more extreme than Georgia’s.
Here’s the worst of what their bill would do:
- Require voters to provide TWO forms of ID to vote absentee
- Limit ballot drop boxes to just ONE location per county
- Cut the most popular day of early voting
- Ban pre-paid postage for mail ballots
I’ll be real clear: Hell no.
I’m running for Senate to make sure everyone -- including the low-income, working-class, and people of color this bill targets -- can exercise their right to vote. Chip in now to fuel the fight for our democracy >>
This bill makes a bad situation worse. Ohio already has some of the most restrictive voting laws on the books. 2 million voters have been purged since 2012.
This is just the latest in a wave of Republican bills trying to suppress voters across the country. It’s wrong, it’s racist, and it must be stopped at all costs. I’m ready to fight like hell to stop them from silencing the people of Ohio -- are you with me?
If we want to cut workers in on the deal, we need to empower everyone to vote. That’s the only way to elect leaders who will fight for the future we deserve.
