The good news: The House recently voted to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)!!
The bad news: VAWA still needs to pass the Senate.
As one of HER Time's top priorities, we're committed to seeing this legislation through. That's why we worked closely with Congressional leaders to include an amendment that will make cyber exploitation (aka "revenge porn" or "nonconsensual pornography") illegal.
Unfortunately, VAWA has been collecting dust on Mitch McConnell's dest for years.
Now, we actually have a chance of getting it passed -- but only if we build momentum for this much-needed legislation.
