Friend,

Do you remember when Democrats won in Georgia just a few months ago? I want to talk to you about the very important reason for that victory and share something personal.

But first, I need to remind you that we are 35 days away from Election Day. Can you chip in $3 right now to help us keep Virginia blue? [link removed]

I’m sure we were all ecstatic when Democrats delivered Georgia for Joe Biden, Rev. Warnock, and Jon Ossoff. Our win has already made the previously unthinkable into the possible. We passed an unprecedented economic relief package that will help Americans pay the bills and put food on the table. We’ve given over 250 million vaccinations. We’re making America a better, fairer place.

Let me be clear: we won Georgia because of Black organizers, Black leadership, and Black voters.

When I look at the statewide leadership here in Virginia, I don’t always see my values reflected. I don’t see bold voices calling for the economic, environmental, and criminal justice reform policies that lift up Black people. I don’t see the kind of on-the-ground experience with communities of color that leads to a stronger Democratic party.

We deserve leadership that understands our problems and has the experience to organize for victory. That’s the leadership that I bring to the table.

I started my career as an attorney. When my law firm told me I had to represent Donald Trump, I quit. I went on to work for my hero, Rep. Elijah Cummings. I became a racial justice activist and the youngest-ever president of Virginia’s largest NAACP chapter. I’ve advanced equitable solutions to education, workforce, and criminal justice reform issues. I am a proud Black organizer.

I’m also a first-time candidate. I don’t have a network of wealthy donors. I’m not taking any money from corporations. Every dollar I raise comes from regular people like you, who understand the need to invest in the next generation of Black activists.

That’s why I’m asking you to support my campaign. I can’t do this alone. Can you donate $3 to support a new vision for Virginia, where everyone can thrive? » [link removed]

Let’s take the success we found in Georgia and bring it to Virginia. With your help, I’m confident we can get it done.

In solidarity,
Sean Perryman
