Zephyr is a law professor at Fordham University, author and progressive activist whose work and advocacy has reshaped how we talk about corruption and what good governance means and looks like. She’s known for supporting candidates fighting against oppressive systems and disrupting the status quo, and it’s an honor for Dianne to have received her endorsement!

“Dianne has the two things New York City needs right now: a vision of what the city can be, and the executive experience and success to realize that vision. We need a champion of tenants, not big real estate, a champion of small businesses, not big box stores, and a mayor who knows how to resist the corruption of big tech and big real estate. She also has that something extra that makes people sit up a little straighter when they hear her speak for the first time: an irrepressible joy and love for people. Mayor Morales has a nice ring to it. I’m thrilled to support her candidacy, and trust her competence, skill, and vision.”
To celebrate such a major endorsement, today we're releasing a brand new plan: Governance for The People.
In addition to curbing corporate influence, increasing accountability and transparency, and empowering our oversight agencies, this plan will advance democracy for all New Yorkers by lowering the voting age to 16, extending voting rights to all residents regardless of immigration status, and improving the city’s public matching funds program.
The bottom line is that we have to fight for a system that centers the many, not just a few at the top. New York City is the People’s city, and it’s time to finally root out corruption and prioritize people over profit. This is also our promise to you that when Dianne becomes Mayor, she’s bringing the People with her to City Hall — not corporate lobbyists, special interests or real estate.
