end-of-month fundraising goal. I had my finance team crunch the
numbers and they flagged that we're about $5,725 behind where we
need to be at the moment.

If you've been keeping up with the latest news, you'd know we've
got important reasons why we need to hit our fundraising goals:

* After serving as a manager in the second impeachment trial of
Donald Trump, Republicans started coming after me with ridiculous
name-calling. Marjorie Taylor Greene called me - an
Italian-American and a Jew - Rep. Mussolini for calling her out
on her stalling tactics to interrupt House business.

* Then, Republicans reported raising a record amount of money in
the first quarter of 2021 as they plot their path to retake power
in Washington. GOP mega-donors and super PACs are gearing up to
spend BIG over the next few months to support right-wing
candidates like Marjorie Taylor Greene.

* But through it all, Democrats are getting things DONE! Joe
Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law and over half of
U.S. adults have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot.

* And there is much more to do - Joe Biden reiterated his calls
for Congress to pass my Equality Act in his joint address last
night. He also called for the reinstatement of the Assault
Weapons Ban, a bill I've written and introduced in the previous
Congress. This is the moment to make these historic moves.

So that's why hitting our fundraising goals is important, and
that's why I am personally asking for your help ahead of the
April monthly fundraising deadline. My colleagues and I have so
much more on our agenda - but we can't get any of it done if we
don't overcome the GOP's desperate spending blitz to hold our
House majority!
