Today is the last day of April — and we'll reach our end-of-month fundraising deadline in less than 14 hours' time.
Over the last few days, we shared with you the current situation we're facing — from the political establishment keeping a closer eye on our campaign to New York losing a House seat in Census reapportionment — and asked for your support in preparing for fights like these in our near future.
Since then, we've received support from so many folks, chipping in $3 or $5 or whatever they're able to at a time. But our fundraising is still a bit short from where we need to be, and we only have today to make up the difference.
The political establishment is backed by big money corporate PACs and powerful lobbyists, throwing millions to protect the racist and unjust status quo — and they will stop at nothing to try and silence our progressive platform.
John, there's a lot that's unknown — especially when it comes to what redistricting will look like for New York and the House, the 2022 midterms, and so much more. And there is no doubt that our movement is going to face many challenges in the upcoming months. That's why we're proactively taking action now, making sure that our fundraising stays robust, so we can tackle anything that comes our way.
The political establishment doesn't have the power of the people like we do. But they do have the financial backing from corporate PACs and powerful lobbyists to fall back on. And as we've seen in 2020, the establishment will stop at nothing to silence our movement and our bold, progressive message — so we need to be ready, John, starting now.
