Hello,
There have been 66 mass shootings in just the last six weeks, leading to an unconscionable amount of violence, death, and suffering. Unfortunately -- and in large part due to the Senate filibuster -- we're hamstrung in our efforts to stop future shootings.
Voters overwhelmingly agree with and support commonsense gun reform, but Joe Manchin and Kysten Sinema are standing in the way. That's why Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema are the NRA's favorite Democrats.
But it goes deeper than that. Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate GOP love the fact that the Senate filibuster prevents much of the Democratic agenda from passing. Ultimately, Democrats have only themselves to blame.
That's why we're ramping up our efforts to put public pressure on Senators Manchin and Sinema. We asked you a few days ago to help us raise $10,000 for digital ads in West Virginia, and you help us beat that goal.
Unfortunately, Krysten Sinema's obstruction is getting far less attention, and we've raised $9,000 less that we need to hold her accountable for her inaction. If Democrats have any hope of passing their progressive agenda -- whether it be on gun violence prevention, voting rights, climate change, or any other issue -- then we have to abolish the filibuster. Democrats don't just need Senator Manchin's vote to abolish the filibuster; we need Senator Sinema's as well.
