Dear friend,
You’re invited to join FAMM and Fair and Just Prosecution (FJP) for a discussion on the need to give more people second chances by revisiting extreme sentences.

For too long, our country's overreliance on lengthy, mandatory prison sentences have led to countless people serving sentences that no longer benefit public safety. Adopting second look sentencing policies would allow states to safely release people who have been rehabilitated and whose continued incarceration would be wasteful and unjust.
I will be joined on the panel by Tyrone Walker, who was granted an early release under Washington D.C.'s second look law; Mike Schmidt, the District Attorney for Multnomah County, Oregon; and Delegate Jazz Lewis, who successfully championed second look legislation during this year’s legislative session in Maryland. The panel will be moderated by Miriam Krinsky, executive director of Fair and Just Prosecution.
