Hi team,
Alexis Magnan-Callaway here, the digital director for The Fairness Project.
I wanted to make sure you saw this message from Mike Espy about our work at The Fairness Project, how we’re overcoming politics as usual and winning real change through people-powered ballot initiatives.
We’ve won 20 campaigns in just five years to expand health care, raise wages, and guarantee paid leave -- in red and blue states.
Real change in red states is hard, but we’ve gotten it done. Our campaigns have been attacked by the special interests, but we’ve fought back and won.
Now we’re getting ready to launch more campaigns for economic, racial, and gender justice -- but we need your help to have what it takes to win these tough campaigns.
Help The Fairness Project cut through the partisan noise and keep winning real change by making a contribution today.
Thanks for being by our side for this work. And stay tuned for some exciting announcements in the weeks ahead!
Alexis Magnan-Callaway

Hi friend, Mike Espy here.
As you know, I ran for the U.S. Senate in Mississippi in 2018 and 2020. And while I came up short, I learned some valuable lessons along the way.
I saw how people across the political spectrum -- Democrats and Republicans, folks in cities and our friends in rural areas -- can come together across common sense issues, like expanding health care.
But I also saw firsthand some of the ways those in power hold us back from winning real change.
Red states are often low on the priority list for top donors and the media. The candidates we expect to win often fall short. The special interests launch dirty attacks and spread misinformation.
That’s why I’m such a fan of The Fairness Project. They avoid politics as usual by running people-powered ballot initiatives, to win real change by putting policy issues directly before voters.
And it’s working. In just five years, they’ve won 20 campaigns and changed over 17 million lives by expanding health care, raising wages, and moving our country forward.
But they’re a small and scrappy organization that doesn’t get the attention of swing-state Senate campaigns or major progressive organizations. And they still get attacked by radical right-wing politicians and corporate donors.
They’re getting ready to launch more campaigns in red, purple, and blue states across the country -- notably to expand Medicaid when politicians refuse to help. But they need our help.
Can you make a donation to The Fairness Project to help them fight back against the attacks and win more campaigns for economic, racial, and gender justice?
I’m so grateful for your continued support of winning real progressive change. Too much is at stake. Too many working families need higher wages, access to health care, and paid leave.
Together, we’ll keep moving our country forward and fighting against the special interests.
Sincerely,
Mike Espy
