A federal judge just ordered the leaders of the Proud Boys jailed. These pro-Trump extremists are being charged with conspiracy against the United States for their actions on January 6 -- and now a federal judge has determined they are too dangerous to be released.
While these insurrectionists are being thrown jail, Republican lawmakers and Trump officials have so far faced no consequences for their acts of sedition.
We know that Republicans in Congress and the Trump administration colluded with the Proud Boys. And Congress should immediately begin investigations into the role Republican lawmakers and officials played on January 6. Their crimes must be exposed, and they must be held to justice -- otherwise there is nothing to stop them from doing this again.
Of course, Republicans in Congress are still objecting to Nancy Pelosi forming a commission to investigate the riots, so we know it will be an uphill battle to see any justice. That's why the American people need to come together now and say that enough is enough.
