Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 12 | April 25th 2021 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Dear John, As I have said many times, electing a Republican governor in 2022 is my top priority. After 15 years of Democrat governors, New York is in a state of total decline. Our economy, our public safety, our quality of life, and our freedoms have all been destroyed by liberal Democrat policies. But if we are going to win again, we can't wait until 6 months before the election--we have to start now. That's why this week we held our first NYGOP gubernatorial candidate forum where anyone who has expressed an interest in running for governor could come to meet and speak to Republican leaders from every corner of the state. It was a huge success and we are well on our way to ensuring we select the best candidate who can win and save our state. Catch up on all the details in this week's edition of the NYGOP weekly newsletter. We value all of your feedback and questions! Don't forget to hit the button below and send in any questions you may have for Chairman Langworthy and we will feature one in next week's newsletter! NYGOP Team Ask a Question! Question from Last Week: From Amy: Why are the Democrats trying to pack the Supreme Court? What happened to "unity"?? Answer: Thank you for the question, Amy! The sad truth is that packing the Supreme Court is just one of the latest in a series of naked power grabs by the Democrats. The House also voted this week to try and give Washington D.C. statehood in an attempt to pack the U.S. Senate and end the filibuster. They are hellbent on taking over everything--from corporate media to big tech to our education institutions and all three branches of government. They know they can't win on their radical agenda alone, so they are trying to stack the deck with their fellow extremists who will keep them in permanent power. We must fight this insanity now, but it underscores the importance of winning back Congress in 2022--and that includes picking up seats here in New York. TAKE OUR POLL TO SELECT YOUR TOP CHOICE FOR GOVERNOR! We want to hear from you! Please take a moment to vote on which candidate you'd like to see as our 2022 Republican gubernatorial nominee. Andrew Cuomo Wall Street Journal Two members of Congress, two former gubernatorial candidates and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s son will address a gathering of Republican leaders in Albany Monday, as the state party starts to settle its ticket for November—of 2022. NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy said in an interview that his singular focus is defeating Gov. Andrew Cuomo in next year’s statewide elections, adding he hopes for a consensus about his party’s candidates before year’s end. “It is imperative that we get the ball rolling,” said Mr. Langworthy. Andrew Cuomo unfavorably, according to a new Siena College Research Institute poll released Monday morning. It's the first time the governor's unfavorability rating has surpassed 50 percent in Siena's polling. The results come as the governor is under investigation by state Attorney General Tish James, who is looking into sexual harassment accusations and other matters, and as the state Assembly's Judiciary Committee is looking into possible impeachment proceedings. He put out very aggressive fundraising numbers so he, I think he set the pace. It is now incumbent on the rest of the would-be candidates to decide if they’re going to meet that pace, exceed that pace or not,” Langworthy said. Read Full Here NY GOP Must Choose Best Candidate to Win Race for Albany Newsmax Langworthy’s strategy is to back a gubernatorial candidate by midyear 2021. Doing so would be a deviation from the party’s electoral pattern but give a candidate sufficient time to build a credible and well-funded campaign. In all, there is so much riding on this election that is important to every voter. If common sense government doesn’t return now, then we may see the fall of the Empire State. Langworthy understands this and his early start is paving the way for a competitive general election. Read Full Here Team Cuomo is now just piling lies atop lies New York Post Gone are the days when Emmy Award-winning Gov. Andrew Cuomo made himself king of the news briefing, answering reporters’ questions face-to-socially-distanced-face all the day long about COVID-19 and his “leadership” during a pandemic. Now he insists on virtual-only press conferences, and his staff cuts the feed mid-question of any reporter who dares challenge him — then lies about it. Read Full Here Ready to take back our state?
