We have a clear way to save Roe v. Wade — Call on Congress to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act

John—

Our constitutional right to abortion has never been in this much danger.

Moments ago, the Supreme Court agreed to take up a crucial abortion access rights case — June Medical Services, LLC. v. Gee.1

And with a court dominated by anti-choice justices and beholden to the deciding vote of Brett Kavanaugh, we just got one big step closer to the destruction of abortion protections.

By agreeing to take up this case, the Supreme Court has the potential to uphold the TRAP (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers) law in Louisiana that’s being challenged by June Medical, signaling that it’s open season for attacks against abortion access.2

Demand Congress take action to protect our reproductive freedom: Hold a vote to pass the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) now!

TELL CONGRESS: PASS WHPA NOW

But wait — the TRAP law being challenged in June Medical is identical to a Texas law struck down by the Supreme Court in 2016 — so why is it back under consideration?3

There’s one glaring reason: Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation was an opportunity anti-choice extremists have spent years clamoring for — the culmination of a decades-long campaign to infiltrate and elevate conservative, anti-choice judges at every level of our judiciary.4

As long as Kavanaugh sits on the Supreme Court, our reproductive freedom and our rights will be under threat. We need federal protections — and we need them now.

Raise your voice with us to demand Congress hold a vote on WHPA immediately.

And it only starts here. We are building a plan right now to organize a multi-lateral campaign to pass WHPA. We’re in contact with our friends in the reproductive justice space and other progressive allies to collaborate on public actions and next steps. We’re not going to sit back to wait and see if Congress acts — we’re going to make sure that they do.

And we’ll need you with us every step of the way.

Are you with us? Demand Congress hold a vote to pass WHPA →

Forward,
