Thanks to YOUR grassroots efforts over the last several years we have severely weakened the NRA's lobbying power. And now that they're on their last legs, it's up to all of us to deal their death blow. Just yesterday, the NRA announced that they would pledge only $2 million for a campaign to fight President Biden's gun safety reform agenda, a far cry from the massive $40 million sum they pledged to defeat Barack Obama's own gun control agenda in 2008. But we can't let that $2 million campaign revitalize their lobbying efforts. We have to use our grassroots power to stop them once and for all from getting in the way of much needed reform.
Friend, we know that you, like millions of other Americans, are sick and tired of living in a nation where our government prioritizes the wishes of the gun lobby over those of the people. Like us, you're tired of worrying if your children, your grandchildren, or your family will return home after going out to the movies, going to school, or going to the grocery store. So we're doing something about it.
Our team is dramatically ramping up our spending in the states of the Republicans and Democrats who represent the deciding votes on key pieces of gun rights legislation. But while the NRA's efforts have raised $2 million dollars to defeat these reforms, our efforts are faltering.
