Here in San Antonio, we have a proposal on the ballot on May 1 that can help fix the local accountability problem in our public safety system.

We’re working tirelessly with local activists to get people in San Antonio to vote YES on Proposition B. Will you join me by supporting People First’s fight to overhaul our broken policing system by making a donation today? [[link removed]]

In San Antonio, 70% of police officers fired for misconduct are rehired to the force — that’s the worst rate in the entire nation. Proposition B would ensure the community, not the police union, gets to decide how officers are disciplined.

Fixing our nation’s broken public safety system won’t happen overnight. There’s many steps we can take to reduce police violence and make our public safety system more accountable and transparent.

Thanks to you, we’ve led on the issue of police violence since early in my campaign. We’ve continued to support candidates fighting for reform through People First. But we need your help today.

Will you make a donation today to help power our fight for justice and an end to police violence? The only way we can fix our broken system of accountability is if we are in this fight together.

Julián Castro
