I know we talk a lot about how close Democrats are to losing the House majority to Republicans in 2022, but today I want to talk more about what exactly that would mean for our country.

I don’t want to stress you out, but take a moment to imagine Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House.

Instead of protecting and expanding voting rights, Republicans will pass bills to make it harder to vote.

Instead of making health care more affordable, Republicans will pass bills to defund Planned Parenthood and gut the ACA.

Instead of combating climate change, Republicans will pass bills to lift environmental restrictions and regulations.

Instead of strengthening the USPS so it can remain a lifeline for Americans across the country, Republicans will pass bills to privatize the postal service.

Long story short, all of the work Democrats and President Biden are doing to make our country a better place will be OVER.

I’m not sending you dramatic emails just to raise money—all of this is a real possibility if we don’t act fast.

Rural districts hold the key to protecting the majority, and BACKROADS is committed to supporting rural Democrats running against Republicans.
