Louis DeJoy had one thing to say to Democrats calling for his removal: “Get used to me.”
DeJoy thinks he's untouchable. He managed to get himself appointed as Postmaster General without any relevant experience -- and now he's telling lawmakers he plans to be around for “a long time.”
The problem? The USPS won't survive much longer under DeJoy's disastrous leadership. He already has plans to drastically increase delivery times for medication and paychecks -- and he's going to make sure you're paying more for your mail too.
DeJoy helped Donald Trump lay the groundwork for his war on mail-in-voting and the 2020 election results but the USPS Board of Governors -- the only ones who can fire DeJoy -- recently told Democrats that DeJoy has their “full support.”
Their support isn't a surprise given that the board is currently composed of six men, five of them white men, who've never lived in rural America -- they're not the ones who will be affected if the USPS crumbles.
The solution? Persuade Joe Biden to fire every single one of these Trump-appointed governors and create a board that will fight for the USPS.
