Last week, I launched Policy is Personal PAC to build progressive power by electing more leaders who will pursue bold policy solutions in Washington. Today, I’m proud to share with you why I’m endorsing Karen Carter Peterson in Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District.

Karen’s special election is on Saturday (yes, this weekend!), so we have no time to waste. Please split a donation between our campaigns today. Anything you can afford to give will immediately be put to use to help Karen win.

As a State Senator, Karen has led on fights to expand health care to more than 600,000 Louisianans, meaningfully reform our deeply broken criminal legal system, and stop attacks on reproductive freedom.

She is the only candidate in her race who supports Medicare For All and a Green New Deal. Karen isn’t taking a dime from corporate PACs, so she relies on grassroots supporters like you and me donating whatever we can afford.

And one more important thing to note: Karen would be the first Black woman elected to federal office from Louisiana. Our movement has already made history, and now we have the opportunity to do it again.
