A Note From Chairman Rick Barnes

Dear Fellow Republicans,

Early voting starts today for local elections in Tarrant County. As you know, we don’t register to vote with a political party in Texas. Instead, we affiliate with a party, largely through participating in that party’s primary election every even-numbered year. The only true measure we have as to whether a candidate is a Republican or not is that candidate’s primary voting record. As the Chairman of the Tarrant County Republican Party, I feel it is my duty to inform you of which local candidates participated in the most recent Republican Primary, thereby affiliating themselves with the Republican Party in 2020. As there are several who are competing for the same positions, let me be clear: this is not a list of endorsements. This is simply a list of candidates that are running for local office in Tarrant County who voted in the 2020 Republican Primary Election.

There is one group of candidates that I would like to call your attention to. These are people who are currently active in supporting the Tarrant County GOP in one way or another. On the list linked below, I’ve put a note indicating the ways in which they support the Tarrant GOP whether it be as a precinct chair, Lincoln Council member, club president, party officer, or other means of direct involvement of the County Party.
