Dear Friends of Ceres,
Ceres will host a Gala celebration of our 30th anniversary year on October 21, 2019 at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, in New York City. Register today for this extraordinary evening of food, networking and conversation to inspire bold sustainability leadership and action.
We hope you saw the announcement of our distinguished Gala honoree, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, a company widely recognized for its global leadership on the environment. Tim has made the environment a core value at Apple. He has used his platform to advocate for the need for business to play a leadership role in addressing climate change and he has ensured that Apple’s actions speak louder than its words. |
| Apple has been a vocal advocate for addressing climate change. Beyond powering its own operations with 100 percent renewable energy, Apple is driving its entire supply chain to run on clean power. The company recently announced that by 2020, they and 44 of their suppliers will generate or procure at least 5 gigawatts of clean energy. Apple is leading the industry in its pledge to one day use only recycled and renewable materials in its products and packaging. It has already “closed the loop” on several critical materials, recycling them from end of life products and integrating them into new devices —
showing the world what is possible when it comes to our planet. |
