Republican state legislatures around the country are forcing through voting restrictions to try to steal future elections. These anti-democratic ideas didn't pop up out of nowhere -- they're following the example of the Facist Fourteen.
These fourteen facist GOP senators tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election and continue to spread lies and unfounded conspiracy theories. They have one goal: End democracy as we know it. And Republican-controlled state legislatures are goose-stepping right behind them.
Their playbook to end democracy is simple and insidious. First, spread lies and conspiracy theories claiming that voting is broken, especially in cities with high numbers of Black and Brown voters. Second, "fix" this invented "problem" by creating laws that make it nearly impossible for millions of Black and Brown voters to cast a ballot.
That's why When Democrats Turn Out is redoubling our efforts to unseat the Fascist Fourteen. We plan to remove every single fascist that serves as an example to those who want to end our democracy. Our Defeat the Fascist Fourteen Fund allows us to speak directly to voters, but we're $4,021 behind our budget. If we don't meet our budget, then we'll have to scale down our efforts.
