The Southern Strategy is dedicated to the engagement of new and unlikely voters, young, and women voters — voters at the heart of the emerging Democratic coalition across the South and in states and districts where the greatest barrier to electoral success is sufficient and sustained financial investment. Friend, amid the awful news of more and more voter suppression bills being signed into law across the South we wanted to highlight one state who’s doing well:

Virginia, the Old Confederacy’s Heart, Becomes a Voting Rights Bastion

Congratulate Virginia’s Democratic leaders on taking a historic step in protecting and expanding voting rights:

CONGRATS VIRGINIA

Despite its history, Virginia has proven itself to be a xxxxxx of voting rights for communities of color, signing into law the Virginia Voting Rights Act, just one of a number of bills that it has crafted to protect the voting rights of its communities.

Why bother highlighting this important accomplishment? Because it shows exactly what we can do when Democrats are in control.

That is why we are ready to hit the ground running and invest in states all across the South.

Once the former heart of the Confederacy, since 2019, when Democrats took the General Assembly, Virginia has charted a different course — repealing laws, imposing standards, and setting in motion a wave that we know will sweep across the South.

By investing in states like Virginia, we’ve shown that positive changes can be made. We can have more states follow Virginia’s lead, because here at The Southern Strategy, we know when we pour time, energy, and resources into “red” states, they are no longer red states.

Add your name now to congratulate Virginia for turning the tide, protecting voting rights, and showing Republicans what the future of the South looks like:

CONGRATS VIRGINIA

Thanks,

The Southern Strategy
