Team -
I was honored to join President Biden at the White House last
week as he unveiled his plan to help fight the epidemic of gun
violence.
He announced six executive actions to save lives, including a
proposed rule to help stop the proliferation of hard-to-track
firearms without a serial number, known as "ghost guns."
The Biden-Harris administration will also publish model "red
flag" legislation for states, invest in evidence-based community
violence interventions, and issue an annual report on firearms
trafficking.
These actions are a long time coming and top-of-mind for so many
Americans in the wake of recent deadly shootings in Boulder and
Atlanta. Will you add your name here and thank the Biden-Harris
administration for taking action on gun violence?

In his remarks, President Biden urged Congress to take the
necessary steps to help stop gun violence. I'm proud that the
House passed H.R. 8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act, and
H.R. 1446, the Enhanced Background Checks Act - but there is so
much more urgent work to do, including ensuring the Senate passes
these background checks bills.
The President also called out my Assault Weapons Ban as a key
piece of legislation he wants Congress to move on. In 1993,
then-Senator Biden played a key role in the passage of the
landmark Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act and helped
authorize a 10-year ban on assault weapons a year later.
It's shameful that we ever let an assault weapons ban expire in
the first place! I'm proud to lead the effort to get it
reinstated and I'm ready to get to work with my Democratic
colleagues to build on the progress we were able to make this
week.
Add your name here if you're with me and the Biden-Harris
administration. Together, we can save lives.
