This news is just sickening –

This afternoon, news broke that the Trump administration plans to collect DNA from migrants seeking asylum from violence for entry into a national criminal database.

This is an outrageous abuse of power by an administration that has proven itself hostile to immigrant families at every turn – from efforts to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, to callously separating parents from their children, to outright putting children in cages.

Now Donald Trump is planning to collect literal DNA samples from people whose only crime is seeking refuge, and put their information into a system meant for violent criminals – and he's doing it in our name.

Trump and the Republicans have backed down before when faced with overwhelming public outrage. It's time to raise our voices like never before to defend our country against Trump's un-American action.
