Dianne Morales’ Defund the Police; Fund the People platform is the boldest strategy of any mayoral candidate to finally reimagine safety for all New Yorkers. Activist Emerald Snipes is officially joining the campaign as our Fund the People Organizer , and will engage communities about police accountability, safety and equitable investments. She will focus on support for working parents, especially those with intersectional realities. Emerald is the proud daughter of Eric Garner, who the NYPD killed in the summer of 2014, and the sister of the late activist Erica Garner — and has been instrumental in national advocacy against police brutality.
