Hi there,
Louis DeJoy sunk the USPS into a quagmire while Donald Trump cheered him on. He wants to run the USPS into the ground and have it vanish from American life -- but Senators Bernie Sanders and Kirsten Gillibrand have unveiled a plan that will do exactly the opposite.
Under the Postal Banking Act, post offices could offer checking and savings accounts, check-cashing, low-fee ATMs, money transfers, bill payment, and refillable USPS debit cards.
This would generate $9 billion in revenue for the Postal Service every year, allowing the agency's 600,000 employees (100,000 of whom are veterans) to keep their jobs -- and, not to mention, provide banking services for the 7 million Americans without a bank account and protect them from predatory lending.
Democrats MUST pass this crucial legislation -- otherwise, we'll be stuck with DeJoy's USPS, with Americans waiting days or weeks for medication, paychecks, ballots, and all the crucial services the mail provides.
Thank you so much -- we would be nowhere without people like you, who believe in a better future for our country.
