We're over the moon about President Biden's new $2 trillion plan to transform our infrastructure -- especially because it allocates $621 billion to improve our transportation systems and move us toward a sustainable future. The plan, titled the American Jobs Plan, also includes investments in electric vehicles and using electric vehicles in bus fleets.

It also focuses on repairing roads and bridges and over 20,000 miles of highways that have been ignored for decades. Most importantly? It equalizes transportation in underserved communities by modernizing transit systems and expanding railway routes.

This is a step in the right direction, and Republicans know it's widely popular. The problem is they have no excuse for not fixing our infrastructure while they could -- so they're doing their best to smear Biden's plan and block it in the Senate. With Mitch McConnell leading the charge against the plan, they might well succeed.
