Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 10 | April 10th 2021 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! Dear John, Unfortunately for New Yorkers, it was budget week in Albany which means hold onto your wallets. This was their worst budget yet--a record $212 billion, representing a nearly 10% increase in spending. This budget also raises taxes by $4 billion on already overburdened New Yorkers and businesses and includes a $2.1 billion fund to provide $15,000 cash payouts to illegal immigrants. This disastrous budget will only accelerate New York's decline. One thing is clear: electing a Republican governor is our last hope to save our state. Don't forget to hit the button below and send in any questions you may have for Chairman Langworthy and we will feature one in next week's newsletter! NYGOP Team Ask a Question! Question from Last Week: From Richard: Is it true that the recently adopted budget includes lump sum payouts to illegal immigrants? Answer: Thank you for your question Richard. You are unfortunately correct. The budget includes a $2.1 billion fund for illegal immigrants who were prohibited from receiving federal stimulus money. This fund will provide payouts of up to $15,600 of taxpayer funds to people in our country illegally. This is double the amount of aid that they allocated for small businesses who have been gutted by covid. New York has become even more radical than the Biden-Harris Administration and this fund is an insult to every hardworking citizen who has struggled during the pandemic. We are looking at our legal options to try and challenge this in court. FOX NEWS: Chairman Nick Langworthy Discusses the New York State Budget on Fox and Friends NYGOP Chairman Nick Langworthy joined Fox & Friends with a New York small business owner to to discuss Democrats' radical budget deal and how, once again, they are prioritizing people who broke the law over law-abiding citizens and NY businesses struggling to stay afloat. Many undocumented immigrants work essential jobs in restaurants, at construction sites and in food delivery. Activists and workers have recently held protests in New York City calling for lawmakers to include the aid in the budget. Some Democrats argued against the fund, fearing blowback from moderate suburban voters in 2022. The state Republican Party chairman, Nick Langworthy, slammed the fund, calling it “woke insanity.” Read Full Here Local Lawmakers react to NY State budget agreement WBNG Like his Republican colleagues, State Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt was also not thrilled about the budget. "This is an out of control budget that clearly reflects an out of control state government, for these reasons we have voted no on this state budget," said Ortt, "New Yorkers not only deserve a better, more responsible budget, but they also deserve a better more responsible government." And in a statement, New York GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy said "The only thing this budget accomplishes is the accelerated decline of our state that will push New York's mass exodus to the point of no return." Cuomo used government staff to help produce a for-profit book, his spokesman asserted that the arrangement was legal: The work was performed voluntarily, he said, and was not a misuse of taxpayer-funded resources. But several current and former Cuomo staffers, or people speaking on their behalf, disputed that their work on “American Crisis” last year was truly voluntary. Instead, they told the Times Union the work was expected within the culture of Cuomo’s office, and that book-related assignments were made in the context of normal, daily duties. His wisdom, as demonstrated repeatedly over the ages, is timeless.Yet there is something different, and especially troubling, about this time. The possibility of permanent decline and the ultimate destruction of the New York we know is unmatched in modern memory. Lee Zeldin on Thursday. Rep. Elise Stefanik of the North Country has also expressed an interest in running, as has Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. "Nationally, this is going to be an election where Republicans have the wind at our back," said New York Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy. Langworthy is optimistic the GOP can win statewide despite the enrollment disadvantage. "I think that there's one-party rule of the Democrat Party in New York and how the extreme left has prevailed in public policy that is going to backfire," Langworthy.
