This Week: At A Glance
This week, Biden's $2 trillion dollar infrastructure plan is drumming up serious concern from GOP leaders and businesses across America.
The proposed plan is so large that it will require 15 years of higher taxes on corporations to pay for eight years of spending. At its core, the plan calls for a $620 billion investment in transportation infrastructure. However, it climbs to $3 trillion with the inclusion of broad policy priorities.
"This plan is not about rebuilding America’s backbone. Less than 6% of this massive proposal goes to roads and bridges, it would spend more money just on electric cars than on America’s roads, bridges, ports, airports and waterways combined." - Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Corporations don’t end up paying corporate taxes in the way most people might think. Ryan Young, senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, told the Washington Examiner that consumers will pay for it through higher prices. Read more here.
How our women are fighting back! Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) and Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-48) took to Twitter this week to push back on the President's extreme infrastructure plan.
