Craft beer on display at 2019 NBWA Convention & Trade Show

NBWA’s trade show showcased breweries from all over the world, with 263 different exhibitors displaying their wares, and nearly 100 breweries pouring more than 500 different beers. The most congested spaces on the tradeshow floor were around the craft breweries’ booths and the show featured lots of artisanal beer sporting plenty of flavor.

(CA) Imperial Beverage brings 21st Amendment brews to Michigan

“We have wonderful fans of our beers throughout the Midwest and we’ve been wanting to get to Michigan for quite some time, so we are thrilled to finally make it happen,” said Dave Wilson, President of 21st Amendment Brewery. The 21A will be distributing their packaged and draft beers at retail locations throughout the state of Michigan with Imperial Beverage, their distributor partner.

(MA) Somerville Brewing files for Ch. 11 bankruptcy protection

In the emergency motion for a hearing filed Sept. 27, the brewery said the recent buildout of a taproom at Assembly Row has resulted in “cash flow shortages,” and that the company has fallen behind in rent at that location. Somerville Brewing hopes to continue operating the American Fresh Brewhouse taproom and restaurant at Assembly Row, as well as continue to service the distribution of its beer products, the filing said.

Consumer study by Drizly paints emerging picture of how Gen Z shops for alcohol in-store and online

Drizly’s study found that digitally-native Gen Z purchases alcohol from local liquor stores more often than their millennial, Gen X and baby boomer counterparts. Gen Z also ranks first when it comes to interest in drinking trends, suggesting that their purchasing behavior today may be a crystal ball for how beer, wine and spirits consumption will look tomorrow.
